Last updated: 27 August 2026
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of bedelboseli.com, including its articles, videos, dictionary, newsletter and the invitation-only Archive Search tool at bedelboseli.com/ai. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Who Operates This Site
bedelboseli.com is operated by Bedel Boseli, an independent Kurdish historian, writer and documentary producer based in Switzerland.
Contact: [email protected], or through the contact form at bedelboseli.com/tekili.
How personal data is handled is described separately in the Privacy Policy at bedelboseli.com/privacy, which forms part of these terms.
2. Purpose of the Site
This site publishes research, articles, translations, videos and reference material on Kurdish history, language and culture. It is an editorial and academic project, not a news agency and not a commercial service.
Content is provided for reading, study, teaching and research. It does not constitute legal, medical, financial or professional advice of any kind.
3. Intellectual Property
Unless stated otherwise, the texts, translations, compilations, video productions and site design are the work of Bedel Boseli and are protected by copyright.
Some material published here originates from third parties: archival documents, historical publications, photographs and quoted excerpts. Rights in that material remain with their respective holders. It is reproduced for research, documentation and educational purposes, with attribution wherever the source is known.
If you believe material on this site infringes your rights, write to [email protected] with the specific address and a description of the claim. Substantiated complaints are reviewed promptly and, where justified, the material is removed or corrected.
4. Permitted Use and Citation
You may read, quote and share the content for personal, educational, journalistic and academic purposes, provided you cite the source and link to the original page.
You may not republish entire articles, translations or compilations on another site or in print without written permission, present the work as your own, or use the content to train commercial machine-learning models without permission.
Systematic automated harvesting (scraping) that places an unreasonable load on the server, circumventing access restrictions, and any attempt to disrupt the security or availability of the site are prohibited.
5. Comments and Contributions
Where commenting is available, you are responsible for what you write. Insults, threats, hate speech, defamation, incitement, spam and material infringing the rights of others are not permitted.
Comments that breach these rules may be hidden or deleted without prior notice, and repeated breaches may lead to permanent exclusion. Legitimate criticism and disagreement are welcome and are not moderated on grounds of opinion.
6. Archive Search (/ai) — Invitation-Only Access
The Archive Search tool at bedelboseli.com/ai is a research instrument that searches a corpus of digitised sources on Kurdish history and returns passages with their book and page reference.
Access is by invitation. You sign in with a Google account; if your address has been approved, access opens immediately, otherwise your request is placed on a waiting list. There is no entitlement to access, and access already granted may be suspended or withdrawn at any time without justification, in particular in cases of misuse, sharing of credentials or automated querying.
Signing in transmits only your Google account's name, email address, profile picture and account identifier. No password is received or stored. What is retained and for how long is described in the Privacy Policy.
The tool returns excerpts from source documents together with their references. Those excerpts reflect what the sources say; they are not verified statements of fact by the operator of this site, and historical sources may contain errors, bias or contested claims. Anyone citing them in academic or journalistic work is responsible for checking the original source.
Passages retrieved through the tool are provided for your own research. Redistributing the corpus, bulk-exporting it, or making it available to third parties is not permitted.
7. Third-Party Services
The site uses Google Sign-In for the Archive Search tool, and may embed content from YouTube and other platforms. When you use these features, the relevant provider's own terms and privacy policy also apply.
Links to external sites are provided for reference. The operator of this site has no control over their content and accepts no responsibility for it.
8. Availability and Changes
The site is provided as it is, without any guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, technical faults or resource limits may cause temporary interruptions.
Content, features and these terms may be changed at any time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Continuing to use the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
9. Disclaimer and Liability
Content is prepared with care, but no warranty is given as to its accuracy, completeness or currency. Historical research is an evolving field and interpretations change.
To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential damage arising from use of the site, from reliance on its content, or from interruptions of service. Liability for intent and gross negligence remains unaffected.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is the operator's domicile in Switzerland, to the extent that mandatory legal provisions do not require otherwise.
If any provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is not affected.
